The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) does not fund any hospital in the home services to manage the medical conditions of the participants as these services are not usually related to their disability. However, disability related health supports such as dysphagia support, continence support, podiatry support, bowel care, wound and pressure care support, etc., could be funded in your NDIS plan if NDIS is found to be the most suitable institution to provide the said supports.
Professionals who are trained to handle such disability related health supports can be accessed under community nursing care. If the support is found to be ‘reasonable and necessary,’ participants can avail the services of an NDIS care worker or a registered nurse with the help of their service provider.
Aussie Life Care can help you navigate the complicated eligibility requirements when it comes to your disability related health support. We can provide the in home nursing care services of experienced professionals who can make your path to recovery faster and more effective. Our participants are free to change their nursing caregivers at any time if they are not satisfied with the care that they receive.
